CMC

Computer Mediated Communication or CMC is a communication and interaction between two or more people via separate computers through a network connection. CMC offers learners opportunity to communicate with other learners as well as native speakers. Context and material of communication are authentic rather than simulated.

Synchronous CMC - Allows for direct communication. Thus, messages can be exchanged  and replied immediately.

Asynchronous CMC - Messages cannot be exchanged  and replied immediately.


There are a few advantages as well as disadvantages of CMC, such as:-

Advantages

No distance barrier
Mitigates time as a barrier
Make collaborations much easier
Social influences and detriments are reduced or eliminated

Disadvantages

Inhibitions related to the use of technology
Problem with access to technology
Lack of socioemotional and non verbal cues
Lack of real human contact

As for today's class, Madam Azidatun taught us about search engines. Search engine is something that is commonly used by people in order to find something like information to be exact. Below are few general info about search engine. Check it out~ A  search engine  is a web-based tool that enables users to find and locate information on the World Wide Web (WWW). Hello Everybody! I guess this the end of my entry as I have arrived to my destination. This entry marks the end of my 14 weeks of journey with my respected lecturer, Madam Azidatun as well as my fellow classmates. I couldn’t thank her enough for all the knowledge that she had given to all of us. This subject is definitely giving me so much insight.
